80-year-old drove against traffic for 30km

BANDAR BARU (KEDAH) - Mr Ang Kho Pei, 80, who is also known as Ah Pee, drove his trusted vintage Morris Minor 1000 for almost 30km against the traffic on the North-South Expressway.
When stopped by officials, he had only two questions: Why were there so many cars on the road these days? And why were they all flashing their headlights at him?
The sprightly senior citizen had made a wrong turn on his way home in the state of Kedah on Monday and ended on the North-South Expressway.
It was the first time he was on the six-lane road. When he realised he was going in the wrong direction, he made a U-turn but stayed on his side of the road divider, putting him in the fast lane heading into oncoming traffic.
"He was driving between 60 and 70kmh and I could see the befuddled look in his eyes as the oncoming vehicles flashed their headlights at him," the New Straits Times quoted an unidentified policeman as saying.
He was later escorted home by highway officials.
The incident, however, will no stop him from driving as he claimed his eyesight was still good.
The former salesman, who lives with his two sons, broked into a huge grin when he said his sons did not know about his "misadventure".
"I did not tell them. They may take the car keys away from me," said the widower.

Sounds like material for television.
